Which Zinsser Primer Should I Use?

For interior stains, use the Zinsser BIN Primer. This shellac-based primer, sealer and stain killer is ideal for all interior surfaces around the home as well as spot priming exterior projects. Capable of removing all kinds of stains including water damage, nicotine and oil and also blocks odours making it great for ceilings, cabinets and furniture. 

For bathrooms and glass, the Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 Primer offers low odour application and quick drying for bonding hard-to-stick surfaces. This water-based primer protects again fungal degradation and prevents rust forming on metals making it perfect for high humidity rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms 

For plasterboard, limestone and other awkward surfaces, Zinsser Gardz Sealer works amazingly on chalky high pH surfaces to create a hardwearing, moisture resistant film.

If you’re covering up old, flakey or chalky paint, the Zinsser Peel Stop Primer is your go to for locking down cracks and gaps under old paint. This water based primer acts as a bridging sealer to ensure surfaces are prepped and protected for any project. 

For spot priming smaller surfaces, the Zinsser BIN aerosol primer offers the same performance as the regular BIN Primer but in a quick and convenient aerosol form to prime, seal, and block out stains quickly and efficiently.

For environmentally conscious decorators and DIYers, the Zinsser BIN Aqua Primer contains only trace VOCs (less than 0.1%). This water based primer offered enhanced performance and versatility over the regular BIN primer effectively priming, blocking stains and locking odours away with strong adhesion without sanding.
