Preparation

Before full application, decking boards must be clean, dry and frost free. All previously coated decking surface paints and varnishes should be removed completely through either sanding or stripping back to the natural wood.
For additional protection against blue stain, rot and mildew ensure that you use a suitable mould/mildew cleaner before treatment can begin.

Application

For optimum results we always recommend testing out a small area to assess product suitability and final finish.
To begin, ensure that the oil is stirred thoroughly, and use an appropriate brush for application, whilst for larger areas use a floor brush.
Apply in thin coats in the direction of the grain, and wipe off any excess with a lint free cloth.
Once oil has been applied, allow the surface to fully dry for around 24 hours. Once the surface has fully dried, then apply another thin second coat.
Depending on surface time and temperature, extra coats can be applied if needed, however allow to fully dry between coats.

Care

To maintain the overall high look and finish of Osmo Decking oil, it is recommended that decked areas are swept with a stiff broom on a regular basis.
For a deeper more intense clean to remove any scuff marks and stains, we recommend the use of Osmo Decking cleaner.

We use DPD to ship items from our warehouse so you will be kept up to date with delivery time scales and you can also leave safe place requests if you won't be available for the delivery.
